| Standing on Common Ground: The Inspiration and Experience of Compassion |
Saturday, 19 June 2010, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm @ Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center, 3655 S. Snoddy Road, Bloomington, IN 47401 (lunch to follow) (donations gratefully received)
All faith traditions share a common value, calling us to act out of love toward our fellow humans. Christians call it "agape." Buddhists call it "compassion." Hindus greet each other with "Namaste." Our sacred teachings, in every tradition, speak of this value and call us to
live in our daily lives.
This
retreat for men of all faith traditions is an invitation for us to gather to
share our most cherished teachings with one another and how we have manifested
them in our lives. Each participant is asked to bring a teaching that inspires
them to act out of love toward their fellow humans, along with an example of
how they or someone they know personally has put this teaching into practice in
their life.
Our
time together will be spent sharing these teachings with one another and
sharing the stories of acting on the teachings, followed by a light lunch.
